NHS LIFT (PPP model)
A new health centre in Dulwich has been delivered to improve access to GP and community-based services, bringing a wide range of healthcare provision together in a single, accessible location.
Delivered through the NHS LIFT programme, the project demonstrates how public-private partnership (PPP) models can support integrated healthcare infrastructure. The facility combines primary care, diagnostics, mental health and community services. This creates a more joined-up approach, which improves accessibility and supports better health outcomes.
A key aspect of the project was managing a complex stakeholder environment, with input from multiple clinical and community groups. Early engagement shaped the design, with workshops involving 23 stakeholder groups to define requirements and priorities. This continued throughout delivery, ensuring the facility responded to both clinical needs and community use.
The completed centre provides a flexible, modern environment for healthcare and community services, supporting the shift towards more integrated, community-based care.
The Tessa Jowell Health Centre shows the strength of the public and private sectors working together to support the NHS and community health.
